An international roundtable discussion titled "CSTO: Working Together to Strengthen International Peace and Stability" was held at the Hofburg Palace (Vienna, Austria) on the sidelines of the OSCE Forum for Security Cooperation.
The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps of the CSTO, CIS, SCO, BRICS and OSCE Member States in Vienna, representatives of the OSCE Secretariat and the UN Office in Vienna, media outlets from CSTO Member States and independent experts.
Opening the discussion, CSTO Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov briefed the participants on the main areas of the Organization’s work.
During the roundtable, presentations were made on the military component and peacekeeping activities of the CSTO. They provided comprehensive information on the Organization’s foundations and structure, the legal framework for cooperation among CSTO Member States, and the main areas of work aimed at shaping a new architecture of international security in Eurasia.
Participants of the discussion expressed confidence that the event would give impetus to cooperation among regional structures operating on the Eurasian continent in the interests of peace and stability.
