Vadim Ipatov: CSTO Model Laws Strengthen Single Legal Space

A visiting session of the Coordination Meeting of Chairpersons of Committees (Commissions) on Defense and Security of the Parliaments of the CSTO Member States under the CSTO PA Council is to open today in Minsk.

Vadim Ipatov, deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, held a meeting with the attendees.

During the meeting, the parties addressed key issues of strengthening regional stability and the role of parliaments in the Eurasian security architecture

"In the midst of rapidly changing military-political situation and growing external challenges, it is more important than ever for us to build up interparliamentary cooperation," Vadim Ipatov pointed out, underlining the vital role of CSTO model laws in strengthening the single legal space.

The Coordination Meeting that parliamentarians from CSTO member states are attending in Minsk is being held with the support of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.

At today's session, the chairs of the parliamentary defense committees are to discuss current challenges and security issues within the CSTO member states, as well as review the upcoming laws on defense and security.
