On October 24, Vasily Piskarev, Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on Security and Corruption Control, took part in the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly monitoring mission to observe the Nerushimoye bratstvo-2025 joint exercises with the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces, taking place in Tajikistan.
The exercises covered key aspects of countering terrorism, illicit drug trafficking and trafficking in weapons, liberation of hostages and neutralization of militants, as well as providing humanitarian assistance to the local population.
"Cooperation with the CSTO partners, making joint efforts to counter common challenges is not only the key to ensuring security of our states, but also the cornerstone of stability in the entire region where the Organization's peacekeeping forces are present. These are not just military units but forces capable of preventing conflicts, protecting civilians and maintaining peace where it is particularly fragile," Vasily Piskarev pointed out.
The parliamentarian praised the high level of field training and cooperation between national contingents while practicing modern methods of countering terrorist and other threats.
"Regular exercises are a guarantee that if a real threat occurs, the CSTO will be able to act quickly and in a coordinated manner. Tested on the training ground, this brotherhood becomes a pillar of peace in the real world," Vasily Piskarev concluded.
