Leading Kyrgyz Universities to Take Part in the Development of CSTO PA Model Acts
Leading universities of the Kyrgyz Republic will take part in the development of Model Acts of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Parliamentary Assembly. This was announced by Sergei Pospelov, CSTO PA Executive Secretary, during the Moscow-Bishkek video-conference at the "Sputnik Kyrgyzstan" news agency on Thursday, September 19.
According to Sergei Pospelov, cooperation with higher educational institutions of the Republic will make it possible to involve experts among university teachers, postgraduates and students in the creation of Model Acts that will contribute to strengthening security and stability in the region.
“We are confident that the intellectual potential of Kyrgyz universities will help us develop even more relevant and efficient model laws and recommendations,” stated the CSTO PA Executive Secretary."
In addition, Sergei Pospelov invited representatives of higher educational institutions of Kyrgyzstan to work together on the creation of a new five-year 2026–2030 CSTO PA Action Plan. It includes the adoption of model legislative acts; development of recommendations on the rapprochement of the CSTO Member States' legislations; discussion of cooperation between the CSTO Member States in international, military and political, legal and other areas; conducting parliamentary monitoring of the military and political situation in the CSTO collective security regions; observation of the Organization's joint military exercises; participation in monitoring presidential and parliamentary elections in the CSTO countries, as well as interaction and cooperation with international parliamentary and other organizations.
Representatives of the universities that signed cooperation agreements with the CSTO PA noted that they hope for efficient joint work and expect that their participation will not only contribute to improving the quality of new acts, but also discover the names of new specialists in the field of international law and security.
As part of cooperation, it is also planned to hold joint working meetings and meetings on issues of mutual interest, as well as scientific and practical conferences, workshops, seminars and other events.
“Your scientific foundation and your experience are especially important for us in the run-up to the Kyrgyz Republic's chairmanship in the Collective Security Treaty Organization in 2025”, emphasized the Executive Secretary of the Parliamentary Assembly.
As you may recall, on September 10, representatives of seven Kyrgyz universities signed cooperation agreements with the CSTO PA in Bishkek. The signing ceremony took place in the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic during the regular meeting of the Coordination Meeting of Chairpersons of Committees (Commissions) on Defence and Security of the Parliaments of the CSTO Member States under the CSTO PA Council.
