The agreement on cooperation of the CSTO Member States in ensuring international infosec, which entered into force in 2019, can become an illustration of effective international interaction in this area – said Vladimir Andreichenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, in his presentation on July 1 in Dushanbe, at a field session of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
He noted the need to reliably ensure the CSTO States’ ability to control the information field, prevent and block cyberattacks and protect the relevant critical infrastructure.
Vladimir Andreichenko reminded that “the Concept Action Plan and Toolbox to Counter Cyber Challenges and Threats (adopted by the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly) will be a good reference point and help on this issue.”
The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus also noted that the initiative to create the Belt of Digital Good-Neighbourly Relations is becoming more and more relevant in the current circumstances. “I think our specialized commissions and delegations from international organizations should give careful consideration to potential opportunities for discussion and implementation of these initiatives at the international level,” believes Mr Andreichenko.
