Vladimir Putin proposed developing a conflict resolution mechanism for the CIS
“In our circle we will also touch on matters related to ensuring security in the Commonwealth space. Indeed, in addition to Ukraine with the truly tragic events unfolding there, unfortunately, conflicts sometimes flare up between other close post-Soviet states,” TASS quotes Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, as saying at the informal summit at the Konstantin Palace in St Petersburg.

The President of the Russian Federation stressed the need for measures to resolve such conflicts.
Moreover, the President of the Russian Federation said that the Commonwealth Summit in Astana will discuss integration of the CIS states in economy, politics and other spheres.
“Today, we have an opportunity to make sure that we are on the same page ahead of the annual meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council, to be held next week in Astana. Kazakhstan focused its agenda on major topics related to political, economic and humanitarian integration,” said he. At the summit, CIS leaders will also discuss security, said Vladimir Putin.
Attending the informal summit are Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of the Republic of Turkmenistan, and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
