In his speech at an extended session of the Russian Defence Ministry Board, Russian President Vladimir PUTIN said that Russia should ensure guaranteed deterrence of aggression against itself and its allies.
The President of the Russian Federation said: “We do not forget the lessons of history, we are proud of our heroes, we remember our fallen soldiers and in the coming year we will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This is a sacred commemoration for all citizens of Russia; a symbol of courage and heroism of our army, navy and all our people.”
Vladimir PUTIN drew special attention to the fact that the share of modern weapons in Russia’s nuclear triad had reached 82%.
“The general analysis of the Armed Forces status shows their high combat readiness,” the President of the Russian Federation said.
Members of the Security Council, Chairman of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Parliamentary Assembly, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav VOLODIN, top government officials, commanders of military districts, units and formations of the Russian Armed Forces took part in the annual extended session of the Ministry of Defence Board.
In his presentation, Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu reported that “this year, military cooperation activities included 98 countries. ...We actively participate in the ADMM-Plus dialogue platform and continue to strengthen alliances with the CSTO, CIS and SCO countries.” Twenty-five international exercises have been held at various levels, the biggest being the CSTO CRDF Interaction 2018 exercise and the SCO Peace Mission 2018 manoeuvres.
It will be recalled that the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir PUTIN took over the presidency of the Organization at a meeting of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in Bishkek (Kyrgyz Republic) on November 28, 2019.
