On the eve of his regular state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Vladimir Putin, Russian President, called the union between Russia and Kazakhstan a union demanded by life itself and turned to the future. The article by the Russian leader on the relations between the two CSTO Member States was published by the Kazakhstanskaya Pravda newspaper.
“Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan is a true alliance and it continues to actively develop in all areas. Our partnership is based on the traditions of friendship, good-neighborliness and mutual assistance and is built on the unwavering principles of equality and respect for each other's interests,” Vladimir Putin declared.
The Russian President emphasized that next year will mark the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
“We are waiting for President Tokayev and other Kazakhstani friends to attend the anniversary celebrations in Moscow on May 9. Both Russia and Kazakhstan remember and religiously honor the feat of our fathers and grandfathers who fought shoulder to shoulder against Nazism. And we certainly must do everything we can to ensure that future generations also remember the cost of defending peace and freedom. This is especially important now, when the formation of a more just multipolar world order is underway, a world based on equal cooperation and opening new opportunities for sovereign development,” said the Russian President.
He emphasized that Russia and Kazakhstan share positions on the key role of international law in interstate relations and the need to take into account the interests of all countries regarding global security, stability and sustainable development.
“It is on the basis of such approaches that our states efficiently cooperate within the framework of multilateral organizations, including the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization,” the Russian leader noted.
Today, on November 27, the President of Russia will hold talks with Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic, in Astana. Tomorrow, on November 28, the Russian head of state will take part in the regular session of the CSTO Collective Security Council.
