From April 15 to 18, at the Kharb-Maidon mountain-desert training range in Tajikistan, military contingents from Russia and Tajikistan practiced the organized use of the Armed Forces to destroy terrorist groups.
The Russian military contingent mainly consisted of units of the 201st Russian military base of the Central Military District.
The joint exercise was conducted on the basis of the experience gained in Syria and Ukraine, with massive use of aviation, reconnaissance and fire complexes, as well as paratroopers.
According to the legend of the exercise, during an aerial reconnaissance of Tajikistan's state border, Russian unmanned aerial vehicles Orlan-10 and Supercam detected the enemy's off-road vehicles. The terrorists were destroyed in several days with the help of Piranha attack drones, Mi-24 helicopters, BM-21 Grad and 9P140 Uragan multiple rocket launchers, 2S3 Acacia self-propelled vehicles, T-72B3M and T-72 tanks, and BTR-82A armored personnel carriers.
At the end of the training, paratroopers carried out a tactical landing in order to prevent the enemy from retreating to the state border and to completely defeat the illegal armed groups on their way out. As a result of the training special operation, the border guard forces of the Republic of Tajikistan restored control over the state border.
