Vyacheslav Volodin and Yerlan Koshanov discussed the forthcoming meeting of the CSTO PA Council in Kazakhstan

On March 4 in Moscow, Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, met with Yerlan Koshanov, Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who arrived in the Russian Federation on an official visit.

During the meeting, the parties discussed plans to develop interparliamentary cooperation, as well as preparations for the upcoming meeting of the CSTO PA Council, which will be held in early June in Kazakhstan, which chairs the Organization.

Vyacheslav Volodin emphasized that Presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan Vladimir Putin and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev set the active dynamics of relations between the states.

"The heads of state are actively working, setting the dynamics of relations between our countries," he said, adding that parliamentarians of the two states need to intensify their interaction.

Yerlan Koshanov noted that Kazakhstan and Russia "established a trusting political dialog", created deep ties and laid a solid legal foundation – over the years, they signed more than 600 documents.

He invited Vyacheslav Volodin to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan. In addition to the meeting of the CSTO PA Council in Almaty on June 3, the Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan suggested holding a meeting of the Inter-parliamentary Commission on Cooperation in Astana this year.
