On 21 November in Beijing, Vyacheslav Volodin met with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.
The parties discussed the development of inter-parliamentary relations between Russia and China, primarily the issues of legislative support for the decisions taken by Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping.
Vyacheslav Volodin noted that parliamentarians of the two countries should do everything to ensure legislative solutions to issues of bilateral cooperation in the interests of the peoples of Russia and China.
“The established high-level inter-parliamentary commission allows us to discuss specific issues not only in the field of lawmaking, but also to more actively provide support to executive authorities for the development of our relations,” Vyacheslav Volodin stressed.
Zhao Leji said that the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress is also ready to do everything to develop interparliamentary cooperation with Russian colleagues.
“Under the strategic leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Sino-Russian relations maintain the right dynamics of development,” said the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.
