Vyacheslav Volodin and Imangali Tasmagambetov Discuss Preparations for CSTO PA Council

On October 13 in Moscow, Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, met with Imangali Tasmagambetov, CSTO Secretary General.

They discussed the results of the Assembly's work in 2025, as well as the joint work agenda for the near future. In addition, the parties touched upon improving legal framework in regional security, as well as further interparliamentary cooperation and collaboration within the framework of the CSTO PA.

Vyacheslav Volodin pointed out that "97 legal model acts have been adopted throughout the entire period of the CSTO PA's work." He added that the Assembly's priority is providing legal support for the decisions taken by the leaders of the Organization's Member States and harmonizing national legislation.

The parties discussed preparations for the meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, which will take place in December, as well as a number of pressing tasks for the Organization pertaining to Russia's chairmanship in 2026.

Imangali Tasmagambetov informed Vyacheslav Volodin about preparations for the upcoming joint meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, the Council of Defence Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils, as well as the CSTO Collective Security Council session in November.

Vyacheslav Volodin thanked Imangali Tasmagambetov for his contribution to the development of the Organization, shaping its legal framework and ensuring the collective security of the CSTO Member States.
