Deputy Head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Fyodorov took part in the plenary session of the International scientific and practical conference "Relevant issues of legal support for ensuring the effective work the CSTO collective security system until 2030". The conference was held in St. Petersburg, organized by the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
Aleksandr Fyodorov talked about the prospective areas for the CSTO model lawmaking in the context of the development of national legislation in the changing world order.
"We need joint actions of the CSTO Member States to ensure both collective security in general and the security of each state in particular from military threats," stated the deputy Head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
According to Fyodorov, the possibility of posthumous prosecution for crimes having no statute of limitations against peace and security of humankind is particularly important. He referred to the legislation of the Republic of Belarus as an example.
"The experience of the Republic of Belarus clearly demonstrates that the introduction of respective changes in the legislation of the CSTO Member States seems to be one of the prospective areas for model lawmaking in the changing world order," Aleksandr Fyodorov emphasized.
At the conference, experts and parliamentarians from the CSTO States discussed the key areas for development and improvement of the legal foundations for strengthening collective security, as well as exchanged information and experience in this field.
