On June 4, Kazakhstan celebrates the Day of State Symbols, a holiday dedicated to the most important attributes of the country's independence and sovereignty. It was on this day in 1992 that the modern state symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan were approved: the coat of arms, flag and anthem, which have become an integral part of the national identity and the basis of statehood.
The national flag of Kazakhstan is a blue cloth with a golden sun and a soaring eagle, as well as the national ornament. The coat of arms of the country is made in the form of a circle, in the center of which is depicted a shanyrak - a symbol of family prosperity and unity of the people. Also on the coat of arms there are golden-winged horses and domed poles resembling the rays of the sun. Since 2006 the song “Meninң Kazakstanim” (“My Kazakhstan”) has been the national anthem.
The Day of State Symbols is not only a holiday date, but also an occasion for every Kazakhstani to remember the significance of state attributes, their role in uniting the nation and forming common moral guidelines. On this day all over the country there are solemn events, concerts and speeches of the authorities emphasizing the importance of respect for the symbols of independence and unity of the multinational people of Kazakhstan.
