Chairman of the CSTO PA Permanent Commission on Defence and Security, deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on Security and Corruption Control, Anatoly Vyborny underlined the importance of the new CSTO PA Model Law "On Countering Terrorism" at the Commission's meeting in St. Petersburg.
"The main purpose of this draft law is to harmonize the legislation of the CSTO Member States on countering terrorism. Most importantly, this Model Law updates the legal foundations of anti-terrorist work in the face of new challenges and threats," Anatoly Vyborny stressed.
The Chairman drew attention to the 8th chapter of the draft law "International cooperation in the field of countering terrorism", which lists the formats and goals of international cooperation in the field, as well as addresses issues of extradition of individuals who have committed terrorist crimes or are reasonably suspected of committing them.
The development of the CSTO PA draft Model Law “On Countering Terrorism” was initiated by the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
