Belarus Calls for Constructive Dialogue at the OSCE PA Winter Meeting in Vienna
On February 20, the parliamentary delegations of the CSTO Member States took part in the work of the 24th winter session of the OSCE PA in Vienna.
In his speech at the meeting of the OSCE PA General Committee on Political Affairs and Security, Sergei Rachkov, head of the delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus to the OSCE PA, shared Belarus's vision on the causes of the unprecedented security crisis in the OSCE area — neglecting interdependence and honest compromises and shifting away from the realistic view acknowledging the existence of spheres of interest and influence.
“Despite the general confrontational atmosphere in the OSCE and its structures in recent years, we will all have to focus on key issues if we care about the future of our organization, if we want to prevent the region from crossing the last line, which it is getting closer and closer to,” said Sergei Rachkov.
He pointed out that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory over Nazism, “which gives special importance to the agenda of unification in the OSCE and to joint efforts to overcome today's challenges.”
