Denis Popov Stressed the Importance of Cooperation Between the CSTO Countries in Emergency Prevention and Response

The 13th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (#SPILF) hosted a session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). Denis Popov, deputy Minister of Emergency Situations, made a speech at the session.

In his speech, he emphasized that the cooperation of the CSTO Member States in the field of emergency prevention and response remains one of the key areas of integration. 

Denis Popov stressed the importance of legal formalization of cooperation between the CSTO countries in responding to large-scale emergencies. He pointed out that the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly has already adopted a number of Recommendations on harmonizing legislation on the security of critical facilities and cross-border cooperation.

Concluding his speech, Denis Popov expressed willingness to share Russian experience with the CSTO partners.

"I hope that Russian experience of legal regulation in this area will be helpful and relevant. We are always ready to share relevant information with our CSTO partners to establish common approaches to the formalization of legislation," Popov concluded.
