Galiaskar Sarybaev Notes the Growing Participation of Youth in the Kyrgyz Elections
Galiaskar Sarybaev, member of the CSTO PA international group of observers, member of the Committee on International Relations, Defence and Security of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted a significant increase in youth participation in the early parliamentary elections in the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to him, participation of citizens under the age of 30 has become one of the key factors in the current campaign.
"I was glad to see more young people. In the past, older people used to be more active voters. Now, apparently, the introduction of new technologies has played a role. It interests young people. Compared to previous elections, there's not only an increase in turnout among young people, but also a more conscious attitude towards the voting process itself," Sarybaev said. "Young people come to the polling stations prepared, they ask questions, take an interest in the candidates' programs. More and more of them view elections as a real tool for shaping the future of the country."
Sarybaev emphasized that this trend has developed gradually in recent years against the backdrop of increased public debate, the development of digital platforms and greater access to political information. According to him, the state and civil society institutions should aim for consolidating this positive momentum and expanding the participation of young people in decision-making at all levels.
