Gennady Lepeshko: Eurasian Integration is the Answer to the Crisis of the West-Centric Unipolar System
On June 24, on the margins of the 2026 St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, a CSTO PA thematic panel discussion "The Security Umbrella of Eurasian Integration" is taking place in St. Petersburg
Gennady Lepeshko, Chairman of the Standing Commission on National Security of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, addressed the panel.
He underlined that Eurasian integration is the asnwer to the crisis of the West-centric unipolar system. According to Gennady Lepeshko, Belarus views Eurasian integration as a strategic priority aimed at ensuring sustainable economic growth and protection of national interests.
The parlamentarian stressed the great importance of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), stating that in the face of modern challenges, the CSTO is one of the most important mechanisms for ensuring peace and stability.
He emphasized that the CSTO is effectively addressing the tasks of preventing illegal migration, combating terrorism and drug trafficking, and curbing the infiltration of armed extremist groups.
Concluding his speech, Gennady Lepeshko stressed that the Republic of Belarus fully supports the goals set forth by Russia for its CSTO chairmanship in 2026, including the consolidation of member states, strengthening of interparliamentary cooperation and the adaptation of the Organization to contemporary challenges.
