Lukashenko and Putin Discuss Technological Sovereignty and Other Security Issues
On February 26, Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of Belarus, and VladimirPutin, President of Russia, held talks in Moscow ahead of the meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State.
The parties discussed how to respond to new challenges and threats in the face of pressure from unfriendly countries.
Aleksandr Lukashenko stated that in this context, it is crucial for Russia and Belarus to maintain their alliance and strategic partnership.
The Belarusian President also announced the start of implementation of the provisions of the Union State treaty on security guarantees.
The heads of the two CSTO Member States agreed that technological sovereignty and other issues pertaining to security, economy and further areas are key priorities for cooperation.
At the meeting, it was also announced that Directive on mutual support and cooperation on international justice is to to be signed at the meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Russia and Belarus.
In addition, politicians will review the joint work on the implementation of the provisions of the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union State for 2024-2026 and make decisions on the further development of integration.
