Observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly will monitor the Russian presidential election.
Parliamentarians from the CSTO Member States will visit polling stations in Moscow and in the Moscow region. They plan to meet with candidates for the presidential post, visit the Public Headquarters for the Russian Presidential Election Observation in Moscow, meet with the Heads of the State Duma and the Federation Council, as well as with the Chairman of the CEC of the Russian Federation.
Snezhanna Imasheva, Chairperson of the Committee on Legislation and Judicial and Legal Reform of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan will be the coordinator of the group of observers from the CSTO PA. The staff of the Secretariat of the CSTO PA will ensure the work of the observation mission.
Preliminary conclusions and assessments of observers will be presented at the final press conference of the CEC on Monday, March 18.
As you may recall, the Federation Council has scheduled presidential elections for March 17, 2024. Voting will last three days: March 15, 16 and 17. There are four candidates for the post of head of state registered by the CEC of the Russian Federation: Vladislav Davankov, Vladimir Putin, Leonid Slutsky and Nikolai Kharitonov.
A broad international observation of the elections will be organized in the Russian Federation. More than a thousand observers from almost a hundred countries will follow the election process and will visit polling stations in all Russian regions.
