Nilufar Alimzhanova: the Voting Process in Kazakhstan Reflects Great Respect for National Traditions
The international group of observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly notes a high level of civic engagement in the ongoing elections of deputies to the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Monitoring the elections, Nilufar Alimzhanova, member of the Committee on Agricultural Policy, Water Resources, Ecology and Regional Development of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, commented on the positive atmosphere and diverse turnout of the voters.
"At the moment, we are very pleased with the high turnout and the voters' genuine interest in the process," said Nilufar Alimzhanova. "We see many young people and families with children at the polling stations—this speaks to the high level of trust that Kazakhstani citizens have in the elections. The voting process reflects great respect for national traditions and demonstrates the unity of society.
As you may recall, international monitoring of the preparation and conduct of the elections to the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan is taking place in Astana and the Akmola region on August 23. The monitoring group includes representatives of the national parliaments of the CSTO Member States.
