Monitoring is taking place in the city of Astana and the Akmola Region.
Observing the elections, Zarina Idizoda, a member of the Committee on Constitutional Foundations, Rule of Law, Civil Rights and Freedoms of the Majlisi Milli of the Republic of Tajikistan, noted that the ongoing elections are conducted in full accordance with the Constitution of Kazakhstan.
"The constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens to vote directly and by secret ballot are fully upheld," Zarina Idizoda pointed out. "I would like to commend the election commissions for their well-coordinated work, demonstrating a high level of professionalism, competence, and strict adherence to the law—both ahead of the election day and throughout the first half of the monitoring period."
As you may recall, the international group of observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly includes authorized representatives of the national parliaments of the CSTO Member States. The mission’s main goal is to conduct an independent assessment of the voting process.
