CSTO is continuously monitoring the situation in the Organization’s area of responsibility
A special group consisting of representatives of the CSTO Secretariat and the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization has been formed to permanently monitor the situation in the Organization’s area of responsibility.
A special working group consisting of members of the Secretariat and military personnel of the Joint Staff is being established within the Organization to constantly monitor the situation in the CSTO’s area of responsibility. This is being done in addition to sending to Armenia a CSTO mission that includes Stanislav Zas, CSTO Secretary General, as its head, as well as Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, and representatives of the CSTO Member States who will assess the situation, prepare a detailed report to the heads of state at the next session of the Collective Security Council (scheduled for autumn in Yerevan) on the situation in the region and work out proposals to de-escalate the tension.
According to the Organization’s official website, the decision to establish the group was adopted at an extraordinary session of the Collective Security Council of the CSTO held remotely on Tuesday.
“The meeting decided to establish a working group consisting of the Secretariat and Joint Staff personnel for continuous monitoring of the situation in the CSTO’s area of responsibility.”
