CSTO PA Secretariat Staff Paid Tribute to the Victims of the Siege of Leningrad
8 September marks one of the most tragic and heroic days of the year — the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Siege of Leningrad: 872 days of hardship, courage, and unyielding fortitude.
CSTO PA Secretariat staff laid a wreath and flowers at the Motherland Monument at the Piskaryovskoye Cemetery, the largest mass grave of the Second World War and a lasting reminder of the tremendous price the people of Leningrad had to pay for freedom and peace.
"The heroism of Leningrad's people is an eternal symbol of the incredible strength of the human spirit, solidarity and selfless love for Motherland. Today, it is our sacred duty to carefully preserve the memory of those terrible days, resolutely defend the historical truth, and do everything in our power to ensure that such tragedies never happen again to our peoples," said Vladimir Bondurovsky, deputy Head of the CSTO PA Secretariat.
As you may recall, the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly is continuously and systematically working to preserve and defend historical truth at the international level. The Assembly stands firmly against any attempts to falsify the events of the Great Patriotic War.
