On September 3, on the margins of the meeting of the Council of the Heads of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States and the SCO Plus Summit, the 13th meeting of senior administrative officials of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and the SCO was held in Beijing. During the meeting, Imangali Tasmagambetov, Sergei Lebedev and Nurlan Yermekbayev, Secretaries-General of the organizations, signed a roadmap for strengthening cooperation.
In a friendly atmosphere, the parties exchanged views on relevant international issues and priority work areas of the three organizations. The participants discussed proposals on further developing cooperation in regional security, as well as in countering new challenges and threats.
The signatories expressed their unanimous opinion that the CSTO, CIS, and SCO are to play a growing role in maintaining global peace and regional security and preventing instability.
The document reflects the organizations' focus on forming a new Eurasian security architecture, developing economic cooperation, and collaborating in the cultural sphere. Particular attention is paid to harmonizing relations and coordinating integration projects of development centres in Eurasia.
Along with the roadmap, the meeting participants signed a Joint Statement in honor of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.
