On June 23, an online coordination meeting took place. The CSTO parliamentarians aligned their positions for the upcoming 32nd session of the OSCE PA in Porto (Portugal).
The meeting was moderated by Daniyar Tolonov, Chairman of the Committee on Budget, Economic and Fiscal Policy of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The participants underlined the importance of regular exchange of information and harmonization of actions of CSTO parliamentarians on topical issues on the international agenda.
Kobiljon Khushvakhtzoda, Chairman of the Committee on Coordination Activities of the Majlisi Milli with the Majlisi Namoyandagon, Executive Power, Public Associations, Mass Media and Inter-Parliamentary Relations of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, proposed to schedule the next meeting on the margins of the 32nd session of the OSCE PA in order to discuss the key issues on the session's agenda in more detail.
The 32nd annual session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly will be held in Portugal from June 29 to July 3, 2025. It's called "The 50th Anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act: Responding to the New Reality in the OSCE." The OSCE PA session will conclude with the adoption of the Declaration of Portugal on July 3, containing recommendations to national governments, parliaments and the international community on security and human rights. The Assembly will also elect new executive officials for the upcoming year, including a new Chairperson.
