Nikol Pashinyan: Mutual Respect Is the Main Principle of Relations With Russia
Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, said that mutual respect is the main principle of Yerevan's relations with Russian authorities.
"I am in contact with the Russian President and the head of the Russian government, and our modus operandi is mutual respect," Mr. Pashinyan stated during a press conference on Saturday.
The Armenian Prime Minister stressed that he considers insults against Russia unacceptable; he also pointed out that cooperation between Armenia and Russia in various areas is efficient.
In addition, Nikol Pashinyan said that the Armenian government has no complaints against the Russian military base operating on the territory of the country.
The 102nd Russian military base was established in accordance with the Treaty On the Legal Status of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Located on the Territory of the Republic of Armenia of August 21, 1992, and the Treaty On the Russian Military Base on the Territory of the Republic of Armenia of March 16, 1995. The Treaty on the operation of the military base was concluded for 25 years and extended for another 49 years - it will remain in force until 2044.
