Sergei Glazyev to Become the Next State Secretary of the Union State

On April 17, Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of Belarus, met with Sergei Glazyev, deputy State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.

The Belarusian leader announced the decision of the presidents of Belarus and Russia to appoint Sergei Glazyev as State Secretary of the Union State.

"Vladimir Putin and I agreed that your contribution to building the Union State must be significant. He has a good opinion of you. My opinion is well-known to you as well, so we have made up our minds. Since Dmitry Mezentsev's term of office is coming to an end and he is assuming another post, we decided to appoint you as the head and driving force of our integration union, responsible for managing the entire apparatus of the Union State. I think the outcome will be good."

Vladimir Putin appointed Dmitry Mezentsev as his Plenipotentiary Representative to the Constitutional Court of Russia.

As you may recall, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia is a partner of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
