Kyrgyz Parliament Speaker met with the diaspora at the CSTO PA Parliamentary Centre

Talant Mamytov, Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh (Chairman of the Parliament) of the Kyrgyz Republic, met with representatives of the Kyrgyz diaspora at the St Petersburg Parliamentary Centre and met with Sergei Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
The Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh met with Kyrgyz national living in St Petersburg to discuss the current situation in the country, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the republic’s economy. He also informed them about the progress and results of the referendum (popular vote) on the Law on the Constitution (Basic Law) of the Kyrgyz Republic held on April 11, about the upcoming changes in the political structure and life of the state, listened to their opinions and answered questions.
The working meeting with the Executive Secretary of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization discussed the results of the work by the CSTO PA international observer group that monitored the referendum preparation and voting in the Kyrgyz Republic; the participation of Jogorku Kenesh deputies in the CSTO PA; possible participation of CSTO PA international observers in monitoring the upcoming 2021 elections to the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.
