Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, and Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, held telephone talks on cooperation through the Ministries of Emergency Situations, in particular, they agreed to cooperate more actively in eliminating waterlogging.
The two heads of state discussed these issues in the context of Kazakhstan's chairmanship of the CSTO and Russia's chairmanship of the CIS. Mr. Tokayev and Mr. Putin agreed on coordinated response measures, which are carried out by specialized agencies and services of both countries, including in border regions. The presidents noted the close contact of specialized agencies and services of Kazakhstan and Russia, which jointly control the situation.
At the end of the conversation, the leaders of the two CSTO Member States expressed mutual willingness to further strengthen Russian-Kazakh alliance.
As you may recall, one of the priorities of Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the Collective Security Treaty Organization in 2024 is to strengthen practical cooperation on emergency prevention and response.
