Viktor Vasilyev appointed Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian Federation to the CSTO

On April 9, Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, appointed Viktor Vasilyev, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, as Permanent Representative to the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), a presidential decree said.

"To appoint Viktor Vasilyev, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, as Permanent and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian Federation to the Collective Security Treaty Organization," the document reads.

In 2013-2018, Mr. Vasilyev already held the post of Ambassador to the CSTO, he served as Plenipotentiary Representative to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN.

With another decree, the President dismissed Mikael Agasandyan from the post of Plenipotentiary Representative to the CSTO. Mr. Agasandyan is the Director of the First CIS Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
