On May 19, the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly reviewed the draft 2026-2030 CSTO PA Action Plan on Approximation and Harmonization of National Legislation of the CSTO Member States.
Anatoly Vyborny, Chairman of the CSTO PA Permanent Commission on Defence and Security, deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on Security and Corruption Control, reported on the the progress on the preparation of the draft Action Plan.
"The current 2021-2025 Action Plan has been implemented by more than 2/3 at the moment," Anatoly Vyborny pointed out.
During the Council meeting, he stated that today the CSTO model legislative base contains 97 legislative acts.
"It has strengthened security coordination in countering terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking and organized crime. The implementation of the model acts adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly increases the reliability and effectiveness of the collective security system in the face of new challenges and threats," Vyborny emphasized.
He added that the draft Action Plan is based on the results and recommendations of the panel discussion of the members of the CSTO PA Council’s Expert Advisory Board within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum-2024, Forum of the Analysts of Russia (FAR-2024), a number of international scientific and practical conferences. Furthermore, the draft Action Plan includes proposals from the parliaments of Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
