Anatoly Vyborny: CSTO parliamentarians prepared a model law On Information Security
On November 19, the remote joint session of the CSTO PA Standing Commissions reviewed the draft model law On Information Security developed in accordance with the 2021–2025 CSTO PA Action Plan on Approximation and Harmonization of National Legislation of the CSTO Member States.
According to Anatoly Vyborny, Chairman of the CSTO PA Standing Commission on Defence and Security and deputy Chairman of the Committee on Security and Corruption Control of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, it was decided to submit the draft model law On Information Security to the session of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council on November 29, 2021.
Anatoly Vyborny emphasized that the draft model law passed expert examination in the parliaments of the CSTO Member States and lawmakers took all experts’ comments into account; he also thanked “all the parliamentarians, all those involved in the development of this model act, it is indeed extremely important for our states, our competent bodies working on joining efforts in combating the challenges and threats we all face;” he commended the lawmakers on the draft’s high quality and said that it will be submitted for discussion at the CSTO PA Council meeting after editorial corrections.
Anatoly Vyborny stressed that the draft model law On Information Security “should contribute to the national security of the CSTO States within the framework of the formation of a Common Security System.”
