CSTO PA international observers began monitoring the election campaign in the Kyrgyz Republic
At the invitation of Talant Mamytov, Toraga (Speaker) of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, a group of international observers from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization arrived at Bishkek (the Kyrgyz Republic) and began monitoring the preparation for the presidential election and referendum in the Kyrgyz Republic.
At a working meeting, Rustam Shokhmurod, group coordinator and Chairman of the Committee on Law Enforcement, Defence and Security of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, gave an overview of the election progress and of the draft action plan to monitor the voting process of the Kyrgyz presidential election.
The group of international observers from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization works as part of the CIS Mission.
The group includes members of parliaments and representatives of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Member States: Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Russian Federation, Republic of Tajikistan and the CSTO PA Secretariat.
Let us recall that the snap election of President of the Kyrgyz Republic and the referendum on the amendments to the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic are scheduled for January 10, 2021. On the day of voting, the CSTO PA international observers plan to monitor the work of precinct election commissions from their opening until the end of vote counting.
