CSTO PA Observers Continue Monitoring Mission in Kazakhsta
As part of the international observer mission monitoring the elections for Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan, CSTO parliamentarians visited the headquarters of the Nationwide Social Democratic Party and the People’s Party of Kazakhstan. They also held meetings with the leaders of the Aq Jol, Respublica, Auyl and Adilet parties.
Ashat Raqymjanov, Chairman of the Nationwide Social Democratic Party, drew particular attention to young people's eagerness to take an active part in the country's affairs.
"Young people today are thinking hard about the future they'll have to live in, which is naturally leading them toward political parties. We're seeing this interest firsthand: just recently, we received about a dozen inquiries from 16- and 17-year-olds hoping to join our ranks," shared the head of the Republic’s social democrats.
Nursultan Soqanov, Chairman of the People’s Party of Kazakhstan, stressed the importance of ensuring equal and transparent elections for all parties and voters in strict accordance with national legislation.
The parties discussed how to keep citizens informed and ensure transparency in the elections.
The CSTO PA mission in Kazakhstan continues on schedule: the observer group is meeting with representatives of various political forces and specialized agencies.
