The work of the CSTO Joint Staff is going according to the approved plan. The coronavirus pandemic has not interrupted the combat training of the CSTO collective forces, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports on the eve of the 17th anniversary of the CSTO Joint Staff.
“To date, as part of preventive measures, the Organization has actively utilized the capacities of the CSTO Crisis Response Centre, organized close cooperation with ministries and departments of the Organization Member States and set up daily monitoring of the military, political and epidemiological situation in the collective security regions,” said Vladislav Shchegrikovich, the spokesman for the CSTO Joint Staff.
Speaking about the 17th anniversary, Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, Head of CSTO Joint Staff, noted that the team has successfully fulfilled all the tasks set for the past year. He also expressed confidence that in spite of the pandemic the personnel of the Joint Staff would continue to show high professionalism, coherence in their work and creative approach in solving tasks of improving the CSTO collective security system.
The press service reminded that, guided by the need to create a military staff body, the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization decided to create a permanent working body – the CSTO Joint Staff – on April 28, 2003, in Dushanbe.
