The CSTO Secretariat expressed its condolences for the clashes on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border
It is with pain and sorrow that the CSTO Secretariat leadership and staff members received the news about the victims of the clashes that occurred on the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on September 14–17. We sincerely condole with the peoples of the two brotherly nations on the tragedy that befell them.
The Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan play an important role in ensuring collective security and make a great contribution to peace and stability in the CSTO area of responsibility, which makes a constructive dialogue between Bishkek and Dushanbe necessary not only for these two countries but for all the Member States of the Organization.
We consider unacceptable any attempts to use force to resolve disputes and are convinced that there is no alternative to political and diplomatic approaches.
The CSTO PA Secretariat joins others in sending its condolences.
