“On your initiative, our bilateral relations have formed a strategic alliance, a strategic partnership between Russia and Kazakhstan. This partnership develops successfully, we continue the political dialogue, we regularly meet with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, our governments work well together,” noted the President of the Russian Federation.
According to TASS, Vladimir PUTIN highlighted the growth of commercial exchange between the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan. “Last year, it grew by 19.6%, reaching almost 20 billion. I think this is a good overall result and we have a good potential for further development,” concluded Mr PUTIN.
In his turn, Mr NAZARBAYEV noted that “relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan are well-established, all the documents have been signed, we have signed the Agreement on Good Neighbourly Relations and Alliance in the 21st Century, and since then Russia remains Kazakhstan’s number one partner in the economy and politics. I have always said that we have exemplary relations.”
According to the press service of the President of the Russian Federation, the parties discussed partnership within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union. “I believe that the integration union works and has great potential. As its honorary chairman, I will contribute to its further development,” Mr NAZARBAYEV said.
He also stressed that the relationship between the two countries developed in full accordance with the spirit and principles of good neighborliness and alliance. According to the press service, Mr NAZARBAYEV and Mr PUTIN also paid special attention to cooperation in science and education.
The parties also discussed topical issues on the international agenda and exchanged views on the current status of the global hydrocarbons market.
