The 17th meeting of the Military Committee for the Development of Military Cooperation of the CSTO Member States will be held remotely
On November 19, 2020, the 17th meeting of the Military Committee for the Development of Military Cooperation of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Member States will be held remotely.
According to the website of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Army General Valery Gerasimov, Chairman of the Military Committee, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and first deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, will preside over the meeting that will address challenges and threats to military security in the CSTO regions of responsibility, the main mid-term development areas of CSTO Member States’ military cooperation and the issues of joint training of CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) in 2021.
The Military Committee’s meeting will be attended by the chiefs of general staff of the armed forces of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Tajikistan, the first deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Head of the CSTO Joint Staff Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov.
CSTO deputy Secretary General Pyotr Tikhonovsky is also expected.
Members of the Military Committee will be informed about working meetings of representatives of medical services of the CSTO Member States’ defence agencies and the results of the first phase of comprehensive research work aimed at improving the CSTO Collective Air Force.
