On September 9, the Republic of Tajikistan celebrates its Independence Day
On September 9, 2022 the Republic of Tajikistan marks the 31st anniversary of state independence. (Tajikistani Рӯзи Истиқлолияти Ҷумҳурии Тоҷикистон). The holiday was established by the law On Holidays as amended on May 22, 1998.
Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, said in his congratulatory address on Independence Day, “The state independence created a unique historical opportunity for our people to unite under their national flag, to solve the most difficult problems and eliminate the hardest obstacles through united, creative work and to lead our beloved country to the stage of sustainable socioeconomic development.”
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan emphasized, “State independence has brought Tajikistan closer to the world and the world to Tajikistan, while the ‘open doors’ policy has led to an unprecedented increase of the influence and reputation of Tajikistan at the international level.”
Emomali Rahmon noted in particular the reforms undertaken by the country in the areas of science and education, culture and healthcare, industry and agriculture and other spheres of public life, and emphasized the developing mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and various countries of the world.
“State independence has brought Tajikistan closer to the world and the world to Tajikistan, while the ‘open doors’ policy has led to an unprecedented increase of the influence and reputation of Tajikistan at the international level. The implementation of this forward-looking policy has contributed to the comprehensive strengthening of Tajikistan’s relations with all countries of the world, especially those in the region,” stressed the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Emomali Rahmon noted, “The historical dreams and aspirations of the Tajik nation, its goals and dreams of today and tomorrow can only be realized in peace and tranquility, in a free homeland and in a sovereign state.”
Noting the country’s achievements in the development of energy, industry and agriculture, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan wished “all families of the country without exception happiness, prosperity, good luck and abundance, and our dear Tajikistan – peace and tranquility, political stability, eternal national unity, even greater development and prosperity.”
