Anatoly Vyborny: Artificial Intelligence is an Important Element of National Security
A meeting of the Expert Advisory Board under the CSTO PA Council was held in St Petersburg.
Anatoly Vyborny, Chairman of the CSTO PA Standing Commission on Defence and Security and deputy Chairman of the Committee on Security and Corruption Control of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, noted that given the rapid development of technology, new threats and new political challenges emerge almost daily, which is why special attention should be paid to artificial intelligence as an important element of ensuring national security.
The experts discussed such priorities in ensuring national security as protection of citizens’ personal data and protection of the information domain in each CSTO Member State in general.
“The topic is extremely complex, but we will present relevant Recommendations by the next meeting of the Expert Advisory Board,” said Professor Aleksei Fatyanov, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.
Andrei Neznamov, Managing Director of the Artificial Intelligence Regulation Centre at Sberbank and Chairman of the National Commission for Implementation of the Code of Ethics for Artificial Intelligence, delivered a review report entitled Basic Principles of Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence Technologies to Ensure National Security of the State.
Today’s meeting agenda included, inter alia, issues relating to counter-drug activities, cybersecurity, medical and biological security, liability for crimes against military service.
