Anatoly Vyborny: The New Security System Should Be Built on the Equality of all States
On August 13, the Ministry of Defence of Russia is holding the 12th Moscow Conference on International Security as part of the Army Forum.
It is attended by representatives of defense agencies, international organizations and the expert community.
Anatoly Vyborny, Chairman of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly’s Standing Commission on Defence and Security, noted the importance of the topics that are being raised today at the conference in the Moscow region.
"The importance of the Moscow conference is obvious, because in today's highly polarized world it is necessary to conduct a dialogue and seek ways to solve international security issues, based on the existing realities. And these realities imply that Russia has become a magnet for all constructively-minded countries that do not agree with hegemony, arrogance and pressure imposed on them from the West. Given that the West refuses to fulfill its commitments, reaching new positive agreements with them is futile. Russia, on the other hand, confidently demonstrates its self-sufficiency and economic sovereignty, its ability to defend itself against external pressure and all forms of blackmail and provocations. The countries seeking their sovereignty and autonomy see the Russian Federation and our President Vladimir Putin as a strong leader, whom they are ready to unite around. That is why the topic of forming a new, sustainable and fair architecture of global and regional security, which is discussed in Moscow today, has acquired a special relevance. This is the unique feature of the Moscow platform - there are many like-minded people here, there is an opportunity for direct contacts with representatives of the United Nations, the OSCE, the CSTO, the SCO, the CIS, the Arab League, ASEAN and the African Union. The new global security system should be built on the equality of all states," Anatoly Vyborny emphasized.
He added that today Russia's efforts are focused on security issues, and Russian experts have a lot to share with their foreign colleagues, including in the sphere of countering terrorism.
"The closest practical cooperation in this area has been established with many of the countries participating in the conference. For example, the CSTO, which is conducting dialog and exchange of best practices in preventing terrorist and cyber threats, promotes the harmonization of national legislations of its Member States. Russia will continue to develop cooperation with other countries to achieve a cumulative effect and further strengthen our voice at all influential world platforms," the deputy noted.
As you may recall, 226 military experts from 26 interested military authorities are participating in the Army Forum.
