Aigul Kuspan and Ulan Primov Discuss Development of Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation
Today, on May 29, an online meeting was held between Aigul Kuspan, Chairwoman of the Committee on International Affairs, Defence and Security of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, and Ulan Primov, Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, Defence, Security and Migration of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Kazakh side of the talks was represented by Daulet Turlykhanov and Erbolat Saurykov, members of the Committee on International Affairs, Defence and Security, and Rapil Zhoshybayev, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic. The Kyrgyz side was represented by Leyla Lourova, deputy Chairwoman of the Committee on International Affairs, Defence, Security and Migration, and Dastan Dyushekeyev, Kyrgyz Ambassador to Kazakhstan.
During the meeting the sides discussed further strengthening of interparliamentary dialogue, including within the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, and prospects for bilateral cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Aigul Kuspan noted the high level of “trust-based political dialogue between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.”
Speaking of inter-parliamentary cooperation, Ulan Primov mentioned the successful development of inter-parliamentary ties. “Parliamentary diplomacy continues to be an effective mechanism for strengthening Kyrgyz-Kazakh relations,” the head of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee said.
At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed readiness to continue active inter-parliamentary cooperation.
