\Bayir Zhamsuev, representative of the CSTO PA Standing Commission on Political Affairs and International Cooperation and deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, said, “We arrived at 7 a.m. (Astana time), at the opening of polling stations, and we saw that all precinct election commissions were all set, as they say.
And, interestingly enough, the first voters showed up before 7 a.m. The anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan was played solemnly, as is customary on such occasions.
The chairwoman of the election commission said that everything was ready to receive voters.
Observers are present at the polling stations.
I can see that security has been fully ensured.
There is certain solemnity in the air, well, the work has started.
The voters are coming.
I hope that the voting process today will take place in accordance with the electoral laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, peacefully and in a festive atmosphere, as it should be during elections.”
