Iranian Parliament Deputies Are Interested in Developing Cooperation with the CSTO PA

Kazem Jalali, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Russia, and Sergei Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, met in Moscow on November 26.

The sides discussed interaction between the parliamentary delegations within the framework of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly events, as well as the upcoming Council and Plenary Session in Moscow on December 9, where the Iranian parliamentary delegation has been invited.

Kazem Jalali expressed interest in further cooperation with the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly and said that representatives of the Iranian side will take part in the CSTO PA Council in early December.

“We highly appreciate the long-standing relations with the parliamentarians of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This interaction is very important for us, as Iran holds a key position in ensuring stability and security in the region, which is crucial for all partners of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly,” Sergei Pospelov noted.

Parliamentarians from Iran regularly take part in the CSTO PA events. On December 19, 2023, in his address to the participants of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council in Moscow, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Parliament of Iran, expressed the readiness of the Islamic Republic to cooperate with the CSTO Member States more closely in order to strengthen regional peace and security.
