Elmurza Satybaldiev: Kazakh authorities prepared for the referendum well
Elmurza Satybaldiev, a member of the Standing Commission on Defence and Security of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly and a member of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Legal and Regulatory Affairs of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, has no doubt: the people of Kazakhstan and the country itself have held an exemplary referendum on introducing amendments and additions to the Constitution.
“The Kazakh authorities prepared to hold the referendum well,” said Elmurza Satybaldiev.
He recalled that the deputies of the Mazhilis and the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan worked during the entire campaign period, travelled to the regions, campaigned and explained the proposed amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“The authorities worked diligently. And the people of Kazakhstan will accept the changes in the Constitution with honour, they needed it; after all, it is 56 changes and amendments toward strengthening democracy,” said Elmurza Satybaldiev.
“At the polling stations we visited today we could feel people’s activity, we saw that people were coming to vote, by noon more than 50 per cent had already voted,” said the international observer from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
