General Sidorov: We value our interaction with the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly
The CSTO Joint Staff hosted a working meeting between Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, Chief of Staff, and participants of the second meeting of the Chairpersons of the CSTO Member States’ Parliamentary Committees on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Security.
The meeting addressed topical issues of improving the collective security system and priority areas of CSTO activity this year, as well as interaction in organizing and conducting joint events.
Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, briefed members of the delegation on the activities of the structural subdivisions of the CSTO Joint Staff and the Organization’s Crisis Response Centre. He informed parliamentarians about the main areas of development of the CSTO military component, the forces and assets of the CSTO collective security system, joint training of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) and crisis response algorithms.
“We have a very fruitful interaction with the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly. And with the Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly. We have the opportunity to jointly address problematic issues for the harmonization of the CSTO Member States’ legislation. We also participate in the work of the Expert Council on Defence and Security and take part in the meetings of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly,” said the Chief of Staff.
Sergei Pospelov, CSTO PA Executive Secretary, thanked the Chief of the Joint Staff for the interesting report.
“In cooperation with the CSTO Joint Staff, organization of military exercises has reached a new level,” noted Sergei Pospelov.
In addition, the delegation of representatives of parliaments of the CSTO Member States viewed the historical exposition at the lecture and exhibition hall of the International Military Centre.
