Imangali Tasmagambetov, CSTO Secretary General, and Sergei Pospelov, CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Executive Secretary, discussed parliamentary cooperation for 2023

On January 16, Imangali Tasmagambetov, CSTO Secretary General, met with Sergei Pospelov, CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Executive Secretary. This was the first meeting between Mr Tasmagambetov, the newly-appointed Secretary General of the Organization, and the Executive Secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.

The parties discussed joint activities for 2023 and interaction between the CSTO Secretariat and the CSTO PA Secretariat during the current year in accordance with the previously adopted Plan.

Sergei Pospelov informed Imangali Tasmagambetov about the progress in realization of the 2021–2025 CSTO PA Action Plan on Approximation and Harmonization of National Legislation of the CSTO Member States.

The parties agreed to coordinate the plans of the CSTO Secretariat and the Parliamentary Assembly for 2023 and 2024. They also stressed the importance of parliamentary cooperation, the ongoing work on the ratification of the documents adopted in the CSTO format and increasing the efficiency of interaction between the secretariats of the Organization and the CSTO PA.
