CSTO Secretary General meets with Belarusian Foreign Minister

On February 12, Imangali Tasmagambetov, Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation, paid a working visit to Minsk.

This is Imangali Tasmagambetov’s first official trip to the Belarusian capital in his new capacity. 

Today, February 13, the head of the CSTO met with Sergei Aleinik, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. The Belarusian Foreign Minister briefed Imangali Tasmagambetov on the Organization’s priorities during Belarusian CSTO presidency in 2023, which will follow the motto “Through Solidarity and Cooperation Towards Peace and Security.”

According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, the sides exchanged views on the situation and new challenges and threats to international and regional security.

Mr Aleinik and Mr Tasmagambetov agreed to further cooperate on carrying out joint actions, including to follow up on the decisions of the CSTO Collective Security Council session held last November.
